Monotheistic Shamanism?
    #3637180 - 01/17/05 12:57 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Ok, a little background, I was raised semi-baptist, and by semi i mean i aws taken to church and sunday school and such every sunday and on religious holidays all throughout my life, from 2-10th grade i was in a christian school, in my teen years i "fell away" from "God" and stopped believing, or rather not believing, but not caring anymore, cuz i found most of what the church stood for was bullshit, but now as im getting older i realise that i never truly did stop believing, although i thought i did, only believing in a different way, i still believe that there is some force out there that created mankind, even be it through evolution, that force at its whim is both good and evil depending on how you view its sway of your life, and perhaps there is a second "Great Spirit", thats purpose is indeed to be evil, i.e. satan, now my question to this open ended community of philosphers and truth seekers like myself is, do you believe that there is a "Great Force" outthere , a God, even if you dont call it that, that has indeed created a better and a worse place for us to go depending on our own enlightenment? I believe that there is a Greater Spirit, whom i call god, we dont get along all the time, but i believe he is there, and he does sway us, and help us through use of our spirit guides, some might call them angels or ghosts, and i was just wondering what others thought about Monotheistic, or even for the matter of discussion Polytheistic Shamanism?

how do the people bring on the rain in a drought?

usually a connection can be found and a technique can be performed by a specialist of some sort to solve problems in the village.

but in some things we are just a tiny part of the immense universe and not in a position to manipulate the vague and massive forces of nature.

the question for the comittee "well if we can't - who can?"

in metropolis the answer was "Superman"

Thank God for Superman.

but maybe it was the wrong question.
