Blood Reddish spots, contam?? w/ pics

I have found a few of these blood reddish spots on some of my more colonized jars (Jars that are nearing full colonization.) They don't appear to be spreading or growing in size however there may be 3 or 4 of these around each jar in some circumstances. Could these be mushrooms starting to form or could these be rusted bits of metal from when I drilled the lids? I could try and describe in more detail but, Here?s a picture.

im a newbie but i think im blind i see nothing red and if it is ITS REALLY SMALL red !!!! i think its to soon to know anything ! ur jar looks fully colonized meybe its a pin !

If you click on the picture, its the small red dot to the left of the blue line. My cakes have had a considerable amount of light so it might just be a pinhead forming, however I'm new to this and don't want to just assume anything.

Might be the start of Lipstick Mold ? Sporendonema purpurescens (Geotrichum candidium). To small to tell - yet. A lot of LIGHT, it might also be a pin starting. Never had a RED pin, though? Sorry, not much help.

forgot to add, if it helps at all, the culture is of the Amazonian strain. Also if it helps, the spots have been there for about a week and have not changed in size at all.

Check if you have an inoculation hole (on the lid) just above that spot.
Only time will tell, it can be some rust from the lid which got infiltrated through the side of the jar, or it could be contamination.
Anyway, have patience.

^^ What he said. It apears almost like a piece of verm pushed up against the glass. But contams will take off, if it is, you will know shortly.

AFOAF had jars do the same thing. Turned out, after he washed them in dish washer TWICE it still didn't come off...the jars didn't contam tho..
