clear slime?

Hello,
I was wondering, on the bottom of my mushrooms stem there is a thick clear slimey spongey thing. Looks almost like a plastic surrounding. could this be from the mycel?

strange--i've never seen anything like that. it is certainly not mycelium. i would suggest wiping it clean with a peroxide soaked cotten swab or q-tip. let us know what happens...

I have picked the two with the "plastic" and I have started to dry them I will tell you what happens. Hopefully I don't die when consuming!!!
