rue and shrooms

i realize there is a WEALTH of information out there concerning the use of syrian rue and shrooms--I've gone through piles of it and still have a question to all of you out there:

I've read conflicting reports of the necessity of being careful with diet after dosing with rue. One view is that it is quite important to avoid all those foods with tyramine content, and the other is that rue, being a MAOI-A (as opposed to B), does not require such strictness with diet.

I would love to hear about some of your personal experiences with this issue.

I've been mixing the two for awhile now without regard to any of the warnings. I'm not saying go ahead, don't worry about, it's just that I've never had a problem with it. And my experience includes using Syrian Rue with SSRI's.
I keep a homemade extract around for smoking purposes.

Its kind of a ritual with me. I grind some up and put them in "00" gelcaps so I don't taste the stuff. I don't really eat much after dosing. I remember having some sausage pizza one time with no problems. I never really worried about the 12 or 18 hours before I dose. I just eat whatever. One time I had 2 McDonalds double cheese burgers and some fries before I dosed and nothing happened. I never eat any of that crap on the foods to avoid list anyways, like bean curd or bananna peels or nuts or bologna...yuck!

thanks for the replies folks. i also have a suspicion that a dose of well under 3 grams will still potentiate a shroom trip... true with your experiences?

I usually take a bowl's worth on my scale, which comes out to a little under 2 grams. This works fine, although after a few times the taste has driven me crazy....

Also, I've noticed that rue: Makes the trip come on more slowly, peak longer, and last longer which makes it hard to sleep for about 12-14 hours instead of the usual 6-8 hours. The trips usually a little less visuals but a more intense body high and a greater tendency to ego death.

This is all in my experiences though

ego death, eh? never had any ego death. ;-) how many grams of shrooms were you consuming? didn't you find an overall quantitative increase in the strength of the trip as well as some different sensations?

Im not sure that rue is MAOI-A, but if it is, thats really good news. MAOI-A's are practically devoid of any dietary restrictions.

You want ego death? Try 5 grams of shrooms along with 3 grams of rue. No guarantees.

puscle--you are quite an explorer. i'd be pretty damn shy to have 5 grams WITHOUT the rue. but, maybe someday...
