to late to hunt in bay area?
    #3632088 - 01/15/05 07:12 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hi,
I'm new to hunting and have been in marin for only a couple years. I've been out looking (not that I really know what I'm doing..)the last few days and have had no luck. Before I spend more time I'd like to know if the season is over yet or if it's still a good time to look. Thanks group!

The hunting season in the bay area is still going on.
Wait untill it rains again, and a few days later
look for wood chip beds around local parks and on Mt Tam.

Also get familiar with Cyanescens and Cyanofibrillosa.
You can find good pictures of cyans in the cyan season thread.

Good luck

Thanks strangeland. Not sure what you mean about 'wood chips'. You mean places where there is a fair bit of decaying wood? I was in the lake lagunitas area. Do these species like habitat similar to that? Thanks,

Wood chips as in mulch.  Yes, Cyans fruit on hardwood chips.
Up North it's generally alder wood, here in the bay area
you'll find them on chips of douglas fir and eucalyptus.
Good Luck
