Do you have to poop outside?

I am thinking of trying some outdoor cultivation if I end up with too many jars for my limited casing area.

Never having done this (and needing a new lighbulb for my desklamp), I am a little in the dark.

All I have seen on outdoor growing uses poop. Do I have to? I don't like poop. I'd rather use vermiculite and potting soil, like I am casing with. Can that be done?

Any help is appreciated?

No, you don't have to use poop. You will need to find a suitable area, though.

Working w/ store bought dehydrated cow manure is not as smelly and disgusting as I'd imagined. Get a hot-plate and pasteurize outdoors if you're worried about stinkin' up the crib. You could take some of those 'extra' cakes and make a DB (dung bin) kit.
