Hey, I've read so many posts about using aquarium heaters to keep substrate temps up and I think it works great. But I live in Arizona and it's hard to get the temp to drop to induce fruiting. Does anyone have any techniques on this, it would be greatly appreciated. I can keep them at a constant 86, however I can only get it to drop to 79 or 80.

to whom it may concern Right before you are ready to fruit you shrooms, take them and put them in the fridge overnight. If you are using a casing make sure you have it sealed well, your fridge might be dirty. the drop in temp will tell your them it is time to fruit.

hey i am trying a different method as we speek. my rubber made container that my cassing is in ( my first one keep your fingers crossed) wont fit in the fridge so i got a identical container and emptied 2 bags of ice into it and then added enough water to cover all of the ice and floated the grow chamber in ice water. the air temp is in the 50s but im sure the casing is colder. just my way of doin things peace!

I read somewhere here that freezer-type plastic cooler sicle thingies (what the hell ARE those called?) work. I plan to try that on my first batch when its time. I'd like to hear from anyone who has used this. Abe
