Can silicaa gel be dried out in the microwave?

I am new to growing my own shrooms, and am doing quite well with the info I have found on this site....But I am wondering, Can silica gel be "recharged" in a microwave oven....In my attempts to keep my activities hidden from the other members of the household, I am unable to use the regular oven...But I have a microwave in my room....Has anyone ever heard of this being done?

Don't do it!
It's bad for your oven! The silica gel will not be heated itself as it's "ceramic" but only the little water in it will vaporize. Unfortunately microwaves need a few oz of stuff to heat or all those waves will shoot right back into the transmitter fucking it up. (sounds likle urban legend but its good physics)
Microwaves need something to heat, several oz of it.
My tip: if it really is silica gel you can heat it in a cooking pot under god stirring until a cold jar held above it doesnt show condensation. Then put it in a jar with metal lid to cool & store.
Hey, Welcome to the Shroomery!

I'm not Wiccan_Seeker but i think i can answer your question: Obviously not, silica gel will suck moisture out of air. It's what it is used for after all. If you just leave it in a paper towel in open air it'll probably end up more wet than when you started...

After 10 minutes or so in the oven at 150C/300F the indicators turned from purple (wet) to blue (dry)
