straw substrate
    #3631174 - 01/15/05 03:05 PM (12 years, 6 days ago)

Does it really matter what kind of straw it is? I snagged a bagfull from the side of the road and I don't know what kind it is. Does it have to be fresh?

I wouldn't use nasty straw from the side of the road.

You can buy a bale of nice clean straw from a Feed Store for very little $$$$.

Good luck!~

Yeah, look in your newspaper and somebody is pry selling straw. I found a guy selling square bales of oat straw for $1.75 that way. I don't know what others pay for straw, but I thinks that's a good deal.

Thanx! I just really didn't want to buy a whole bale when I could get what I need anytime.

There are quite a few bales around here right now. They are going to use it to start new grass. They have built a few new stores around here lately and not a lot of grass can be seen. I have been working on being able to post pics for a while w/no avail. My files are >200kb. I'm working out of imageshack.us and still learning.
