#1 15psi will do

#2 if you can afford it get a size bigger than you think you'll need

#3 not that I know of.

I suggest checking out PC's at Walmart. They usually carry the Mirro brand at a good price. GL.

i found one at walmart (spent 30 on it) but i realized it wasnt big enough, nor did it go to a high enough psi (probably only about 12) great for my first pf tek grow but now 2 months later i realized that i want to do grains, casing, create syringes etc and that small cooker just doesnt cut it (3 pint jars per cook) waste of time. i found a 22 qt Wisconsin brand for $140 on amazon.com with the specials they were offering ended up only costing me only $80 (including shipping). its what i should have just sucked it up and done in the first place.

I agree with PsycAura. I too bought one at Walmart for about 20 bucks and it only goes to 10 psi. It gets the job done i have to cook for 70-90 min and it will hold 4-5 1/2 pts. Good for pf jars. Well, here I am moving to grain and the damn thing only holds 1qt at a time. So I wish I would have bouoght a bigger cooker, and I will be buying a bigger one for sure. So save your 20 bucks and get the bigger one now. You'll end up doing it sooner than later.

Same here, ask agar for a link to some badass cookers, they're pricey as FUCK.
But damn, they're professional and big as hell...but he'd probably just tell you to check out amazon or something of the sort

presto is good for people short on scratch. it's what i use... a 21qt model can be found online for about $90. All American is the way to go if you've got the money though. You'll be able to pass that sucker down to your kids. And if you're just rolling in cash, go for the 41.5qt electric model. But only if you let me come over and use it once and a while

I suggest going to resale shops. I haven't been able to find one yet, but i've only gone to two. Worth a shot.

What a waste of time. You will be fine at 20 mins with 10 psi for that size jar

23 QT= 24 half pinters, 20 pints ,7 qts , with various tools in sterilization pouches . 3 full myco bags , maybe more  ....... this where BIGGER IS BETTER truly applies

10 PSI... 15 PSI ........scales tipping toward................. 15 psi , why double times and not be totally sure achieved sterility ?
especially with tools and grains IMHO ! Yes true will do trick .But leaves room for doubt .

Even at 15 psi ... I say 1hr for grains , more if doing large bags , or max amount of jars.
