Keeping cakes alive
    #3629790 - 01/15/05 12:35 AM (20 years, 5 days ago)

Hey,

Does anyone have tips on how I can keep cakes alive when I can't tend to them for two weeks? The cakes will have flushed probably two times. Is this possible? And if so what is the best way for me to do it.

If they are still in their jars, just seal them well and put them in the fridge.

They won't be in jars, but will be in a terrarium. Can I put them in jars or do i need to?

Oh, and would I need to seal them with lids without the holes in them?

I would highly recommend sterile jars and new (sterile)lids w/o any holes or if you must zip-lock! It is very important that they are sealed well! Your fridge is full of cold resistant contams!

if you're going to be gone for that long, why not just start some new jars?
