I guess it depends on which plant you want to use and the procedure you use to get the essential oil.

yes diferent oils from different plants have different vaporising or combusting temperatures. The leader in essential oils would be Young Living essential oils. I would love to get a job working on any of his farms.

do you know of any data sheets that contain such info for different types of plants, methods and temps?
tried searching but couldn't find much just an average temp and a few different types of distilliation such as steam, water and alcohol.

I normally just steam distill everything i want to make oils out of. Steam distilling then diluting out rosemary makes a nice bug repellent.

Basically i setup a fractional distillation column and pack it with rosemary leaves and start boiling some water in the flask below.

take them away as destroy them or take them to the collecting flask?

in either case, it depends on the plant you use. can't say for certain.
but steam is generally just near boiling anyway and i wouldn't count on it harming too many alkaloids, though some delicate ones could be screwed up.
