OK to noc. WBS w/ fruiting BRF cake?

I'm switching to WBS pint jars as we speak, and i want to know if one of my fruiting BRF cakes can be used as spawn for the WBS. I have a few options on which cake to sacrifice: -1 w/ no fruit yet -1 that has fruited once but only 5 small shrooms -and quite a few other very healthy looking cakes, several of which are fruiting well I ask because i don't really want to dice up my mushies and don't have the $ for more syringes at the moment, and because i don't want my jars of wbs sitting for a long time.
i'm worried that since they've all been in the fruiting chamber and have been coldshocked/dunked that if i crush them up and put in an appropriate ratio to the wbs jars, the mycelium won't want to take over jars since they're in, for lack of a better term, fruiting mode.
can anyone give me some advice? mucho gracias

That should work fine if you have a sterile environment to do the transfers in, of course. I'd pick the one that hasn't fruited yet as a candidate for healthiest mycelium of the transfer. Just cut a nice size chuck out and divide that up into your WBS jars.

Just use your judgement, doesn't have to be a ton of material to get things moving in the WBS jars. I use about a dime size of substrate for this.

just curious: are you going to use the wbs as spawn or will you be casing it?

i'm just going to straight case the wbs n see how it goes, i'll prob. use just verm. as casing but maybe jiffy mix if i'm feeling adventurous... i'm not really wanting to get into the poo, maybe sometime down the road though
