Substrate Nutritional Analysis Site

Nutrition Data

I thought people might be interested to know that you can get nutritional analysis data for a wide variety of substrate materials on this site, at least those that are human foodstuffs. It gives all the useful info a culivator might want, such as Protein, Fat, Fiber, as well as minerals.

There is a search box on the front page, and you can switch between 100g and 1 cup amounts at the top of each selection.

Can anyone add a usfull way to tie this to growing mushrooms? What sorts of things this site lists to look for? Or does it not break it down well enough.

Any grains or otherwise edible product would have the information listed here. Much like the final addendum to TMC and, I believe, GGMM.

Barley has 383mg Tryptophan compared to
rye 260mg
millet 238mg

My petshop has barley for the same price as wheat, must try it next time.

it doesn't list the tryptophan of quinoa, which is supposed to be the grain with the highest amount in it. anyone know, not that it really matters. i have used some mixed with rye in my last batch. seeing if it will make a difference in any aspect of the shrooms, growth rates, potency, etc. anyone have any experience?
peace

i looked there soopaX, they didn't list the data for tryptophan in quinoa. everything else but a couple things had data. it just had a ~ in the column for trypt.
so shirley, no noticable difference at all.
peace

When all else fails presume they spelt it wrong
I typed in quin and got it. But it gives no tryptophan reading!
