Alien.. Any recommendations for substitutes? What about negative ion generators? They should safely help to reduce the amount pollutants in the air. Or are they a waste of time?

I have always thought/suggested ozone generators were bad to use.

Ozone eh?,
Best thing since sliced pudding as far as plants go, and keeping us alive, but.... And, a big but here.
Ozone as itself is amazingly unstable/reactive, thus it's potentially dangerous nature when in close proximity to us. Definate danger when encountered in high concentrations, whether in an enclosed living space, or low in the atmosphere (down to earth), as when ozone alerts go out. (Heh, Heh! Usually too little, too late! ). Funny, as it is an essential protector of us while in the upper atmosphere. Without it, we would certainly perish. Would suggest against artificially elevating levels of ozone in living spaces, unless dedicated room shut off from the rest. Possible detriments definately outway the benifits under MOST situations.

negative ion generators and/or carbon filters seems to be a safer alternative... for purifying air...

ozone is just preferable in agricultural situations, since when it "cleans" the air, it shuts down odors....

He somehow manages to breathe in his sepia, wounded-tea, liquid ambiance suspension.

so if i want to get rid of odors arousing suspison i should get a ozone gen. then? or would a ion generator work just fine, its nothing big causing the problem just a few bad(well depends if u like it) odor causing plants.

It's certainly been more than a day, Alien. Certainly not a problem when it coems to safety though, who knows what could have happened with too much ozone in a close mushroom growing quarters.
