Tiny mushies
    #3622544 - 01/13/05 07:54 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

Well this flush seems a bit small, they're a bit bigger than q-tips, they just Had a sort of growth spurt the night before last, I figured that they'd cont. on, and this sudden growth was after they were deprived and choked w/ co2 for 12 hours striaght ;/

After i fanned, like about 12-24 hours later, they just boomed, lol, Well its been about 24hr since then and they look the same, compared to how they were growing they should be noticabley bigger.

I'm thinking that maybe that sudden jolt of o2 gave them a kick or something.

I was just curious if n e one has had something like this before, i'm just hoping for a bigger flush next time (mushroom size), well, i'll ck em tomorrow and post back and see what happens,

-thankx

yeah my first flush on most of cakes seemed about that size as well, w/ caps that don't even seem to be mature enough to open up before they stop growing. hope my next goes better too, and it's why i'm switching to wbs as substrate

usually the stunted smurfhouses come in the later flushes. i have had this problem before u have to give them air exchange-this is a big reason. also misting helps a lot on cakes. those small ones will come back at ya though-powerful!

i just had the first flush of a couple of new casings. all of the shrooms were very small. kind of upsetting the only reason i can think of is that i used a smaller container.

as far as I know small mushies can be due to low airexchange (high c02) but even then they will get long stems, but small caps.

the only thing that makes me doubt that smaller=more CO2 is that i have air pumps in both my tanks, and i fan w/ a handheld fan at least 3 times a day hopefully when i switch to bulk i can correct this

Some strains, I believe cambodian or was it Puerto rican?, just are small. Also lack of water/nutes can keep them smaller Id think

Nah I think if they are overall smaller but in right proportions the cause isnt high co2.
