i am doing PFtek at room temperature (65-70?F), it took about 2 months (yes, two months!) to have the cakes fully colonized but now they are. after dunking in water+fridge for 24 hours i birthed them on a bed of wet perlite (see pic). humidity is ok (always above 90%), but temperature is still 65-70?F, a little cold. today is day 10 since birthing and still no pinning, only a little white hair growing on the cakes. WILL THEY EVER PIN?, and, is temperature the main reason for their delay???

temperature matters but then again it doesnt. i birthed my cakes at 58-60 degrees and set them on a lid with fresh vermiculite and peroxide. make sure u are giving them the proper light for pinning activation. u may have birthed them too soon and the inside may not be fully colonized. looks good though-u should have some baby smurfhouses arriving within the next 5 days-keep us posted!

Yes temp will delay pinning. Make sure your giving them 12-16hrs. of light a day and 4-5 fresh air exchanges a day too. Expect 2-3 weeks for pins to develop.GL

shit nigga, my cakes took about the same amount of time to fully colonize. i've had my 3 cakes birthed for about 2 weeks now, temps were at 67-70, then i read that they should be at 70-75, so change temps to 70-73 about 3 days ago. no pins yet.
i thought the temps were suppose to be a little bit low because of the "cold shock" technique.

My dad use to have this red truck that he would drive all the way to Moscow with. He actually got a really good deal on it from a friend of his. One day it had a strange noise coming from the trunk. A tapping noise that was on and off. He pulled over to check it out. When he got out of his truck, he stepped in a puddle, causing muddy water to splash all over his jeans. So he got back into his truck and decided to go back home.
