hello folks, sorry by not having a picture to show it all but it finally flowered - it took 3 summers, my Argyreia nervosa has surprised me today when i saw that fat flower fallen on the ground and then a couple clusters forming up under the full sun... i've been looking around the net, it seems there are different kinds of HBWR! mine look like these: http://www.erowid.org/plants/show_image.php?i=hbw/argyreia_nervosa9.jpg

anything different this year, or do you think it's just a process of time? Like it just had to mature to a certain level? Let us know if it sets seeds, or doesn't.

this year is particularly hotter than the usual, and a drought - almost no rain since december (of course i water it then). but i believe it's something to do with maturity/aging. they're outdoors, they've climbed high for light, they need TONS of light... it's impressive, many cacti wouldn't enjoy so much light and heat.

so is it still just the one flower or have more appeared? Do you have any plans to try and manually pollinate them?

there are a few clusters of flowers! =D i thought about hand pollinating but i believe the bees and other insects should do the job (as it's outdoors)...

What hardiness zone and altitude (roughly) are you at? Be sure and let us know how this all goes.

i'm not sure which zone it corresponds in zone #... here it's 20 feet above the sea level and the latitude is 30 degrees, i think it corresponds to something like florida or so, somewhere where the fields do freeze in the winter mornings but thats all. there also are big temperature variations during the day (~15C or so)... i am working on the pics i'll try to get them this weekend.
