the difference is?

Why is it that people say that bags take longer to colonize myc than jar. I mean it is principally the same thing correct? same temp, environment, etc?also do the bags have to be incubated so air can get in the bags or can the filter patch be folded over getting no air like a jar does.? :stoned:

Well for one usually your bags are larger than your jars.

Second, I would guess that bags (when handled) don't afford much protection to your substrate. Rye for example will move all over the place whenever you handle the bag. That slows myc growth in it's earlier stages.

Other than that, I have no idea. Why. They do seem to take longer though.

I know what strikes me as odd about this. It is totally unnatural. The whole idea is just totally backwards.

So are historians going to look back at 'The Great Cake Eaters'? Damn. That was a backwards step in the evolutionary process. We left Shroomheads in the dust. Welcome to the new age of Vermheads.

bags hold more substrate, more substrate=bigger fruits and larger flushes (by weight), bags need the room to expand, its something that they are going to do
so its best if the patch is exposed
