I'm really no expert at identifying specimens, but i have doubts about this one. White spots seem weird to me and not muscaria like. If the bottom bulb was growing underneath the dirt, it's an amanita, which is a very dangerous family... Wait for better inputs from others. But in doubt, even small doubt, avoid. .fs.

Amanita Muscaria it does appear to be. Be careful of how you prepare/eat it...i belive it can be quite dangerous. Awesome fucking find, btw. Those amanitas are magical...

Your not suppose to cook it . It should be dried and then eaten. Before drying you should wipe off all of the scum from the cap.
All of the indigenous peoples, the Finns, The Lapps, The Chuchee, Koryak and Kamchadals who consume them dry them before ingestion.

i found 3 nice caps sub.... http://www.erowid.org/plants/amanitas/amanitas_info_petri.shtml <--this is where i found my preperation for cookin but what i did differently is after cooking and letting it sweat i poured it into a pot of water like i said and made alittle brownish tea from it tastes like a store bought mushroom like i said i drank a few sips and had a mild euphoric buzz like i smoked some good pot for about an hour and felt a little restless then my eyes got real red and watery like i was high as hell they still feel a little heavy too i want to dose some more next time and get a better dreamy state out of it i never thought they would grow so abundantly around here ive seem so often in cow fields by trees and around lawns under pines and on the sides of the bike trace in the woods and around trees and i love it now i know about them thanks for ur help guys...peace

Yeah, I've always read that you were supposed to cook them. Be aware that they do often times cause sickness, regardless of how they are prepared.

ibotenic acid is the active ingredient as well as muscimol.
And then ther eis the muscarine.
There are also other toxic chemicals int he Amanitas besides the above ones.
mj
and agian, they should be eaten after they have been dried.
Not boiled or cooked.
