    #3618317 - 01/12/05 03:49 PM (11 years, 10 months ago)

100g organic rye grain put into pc with 105g water and knife tip of gypsum... for 1 hour. Alot of Rye grains have a small white bit at end of grain. Is this OK? What is it?

The white thing is the very beginning of the root. It can be seen when internal. When that "thing" its external it is a male rye kernel!

Kiddin when its external the rye is starting to sprout and you dont want that!

Have done rye only once. Dont know really where the limit is, they become mushy and the mushrooms DONT like that.

Do you have pictures? Also you can search the site and posts.

Yes pressure cooking will inhibit any germination of the rye grain. I would suggest reading up on Magash's Simple Rye Tek if your wanting to get into rye. This method more than likely will result in failure if you continue to use it.
