light for casing

In laymen's terms, what type of light do I need for a casing? I've only been able to find answers that refer to specific wavelenghts, I just want to know if it can be found at home depot and what to look for. Is an rubbermaid incubator with a fully submersible fish tank heater a fire hazard? I appreciate your help.

Just about any light source will do . Submersibles are best for this application .

What are the maximum night time light levels? I hear tell that Mj needs a dark cycle to produce hormones for proper growth, and that the full moon is the maximum amount of light it can accept overnight without destroying those hormones.
How does that look for mushies? Will those goddamn streetlights fuck me over?
Is there a photonometer device to detect the light levels?

Many suggest that mushies have a 12 on 12 off schedule .
Personally I do a 8 hr on , and find it to work just fine .
Mushies are phototropic in the sense that they use the light to tell them which way is up , and that when exposed to light it is time to fruit(along with other enviro ques) , where as MJ uses photosyntesis to produce food .
No need to worry about the stray light , worst thing that can happen is mushies will grow from all directions , leaning this way and that way

mm...
I was wonding if those street lights coming in through the window would cause the mushrooms to think that they were getting no dark cycle, therefore stalling growth or somesuch.

It should'nt . Try hanging some curtains if worried . During incubation\germination is only times I know of that keeping in the dark is important .

Regular ambient light in your bedroom is fine. Doesn't need a light cycle either. Can expose it to light for 16 hours one day and four hours the next and will do just fine.
