hey like minds ,
i hope I'm posting this in the right forum. i tried the general questions forum and someone sent me here. so here it is. id like to consider myself an armature entheomycologist and have been growing for about 3 yrs. a new acquaintance recently gave me a small gift for my b-day (you can guess what the gift was or i wouldn't be here)in all my time growing i have never seen the likes of these. the only info i could get out of the person was a name INDIAN EYE of the stropharia from India. the size ranged from 1 to 3 in tall and caps with 1/2 in. to 3 in. diameter they had light tan to golden tops. the gills were widely spaced and a very dark brown to almost black. there was no bluing on the stems of any of them live or dry.
if any body has heard of these or knows the full name or weather they even exist please all info would be great.

i think your best bet is to ask in the hunting forum. those guys know lots of different mushrooms... and quite a few have field guides/books on mushrooms and could look this up for you.

around here, you're probably only going to find people trying to grow Ps. Cubensis... maybe some other species, but not often.
