    #3616018 - 01/12/05 12:59 AM (20 years, 8 days ago)

Just now I birthed my first cake but im alittle upset becuase a few days ago I overheated my cakes and I am just hoping they are not dead. When I just birthed this cake the mycelium didnt look fluffy.. is it supose to be all fluffy ? it just looked flat and not fluffy i guess. there was alot of water in the jar tho could that cause it or is it not supose to be fluffy i dont really know or is the cake dead ?
i am dunking it right now

Dunk for 24 hours..then roll in dry verm and mist until moist and put directly into your chamber and keep it moist untill you dump it. Should be fine..

thanks alot  also after I dunk my cake for 24 hours and roll it in vermiculite and then place it in my fruiting chamber how long untill i will start to see some pins. my mushroom in EQ.  Also I am planning to make a spore syringe so how long will I have to wait untill I pick my mushrooms after putting them in my chamber. I am going to dunk after each flush. Meybe just wait till my 3rd flush and then let the mushrooms grow for a long time so i can get spores.?

If you are making a spore print you have to wait till the cap has opened up and the veil is torn, then you can pick. I would do your prints/syringes off your first flush because you will have more shroomies and there's no guarentee on how many flushes you will get and how big or little they will be each time around. I ussually start seeing pins on days 5-10.

I feel your pain, it's hard to wait. My advice to you is keep yourself busy or it's all you'll think about.
