I vaguely remeber reading a tek involving, i'm trying to remeber here, a root/herb being added to the substrate. It was available at health food stores, and it was argued that it was used as nutrients for the mycelium, eventualy helping in.....making them more potent.

You can change the taste of the fruits by using herbs as substrate, nothing more.

Are you sure about this?

you can add "mixed pollen"(homobrassinolide=fungal growth promoter) to your sub with about a 10% increase in yeild. you might be able to potentiate your fruits with Mimosa Hostilis rootbark as well, with a tryptamine-rich sub you should have more potent fruits.....

Is mixed pollen something that you can just buy in a gardening store? What would it be marketed as? Also, I've read some of the info on tryptamines, but I don't believe there is any convienient sources for it...

that is tryptophan and that does not, as far as i know, potentiate fruits. as the tryptophan is not carboxilated(sp?), the mycelium cannot turn it in to "Cin/Bin"...if it were to work, if i am not mistaken, the "Bin" would even be decreased a little...
