Growing P. mexicana

I've currently been looking into growing p. mexicana. I was wondering if anyone out there had any links for grow teks or general info on the fruiting requirements of these mushrooms. I read a tek on the shroomery that said they could be grown using the pftek methos (casing of course) with a substrate change of
1 part (by weight) rye grass seed. 3 parts (by weight) water. or
1 part (by weight) soft grain rice. 2 parts (by weight) water. (copied from the tek)
Is this true? Can anyone provide any insight or experience reports to this?

yo dude
i'm just guessing here, but have you acquired prints labelled 'mexicana' in a trade or such?
in that case, i would harbor at least some doubt about their authenticity...

Unfortunately, AtomHeart's site seems to be down and, stupid me, I neglected to make note of his recommended substrate recipe. Does anybody please have this handy and'd be willing to post/email?
Many thanks!

do you know what you are getting into? when you move away from p cubensis you have to have good knowledge of growing and you cant just follow a tek! im pretty sure p mexicana are extremely small (you have to take like 20 to trip) and im pretty sure i read somewhere that they need costant airflow, and if they go below 85% humidity they will all abort. i am not too sure where i read this and they might have been talking about another strain, but im pretty sure that info was about p mexicana. you will need alot of accurate equipment also, you cant just throw them into a terrarium with a layer of damp perlite at the bottom and fan them three times a day. they wont grow that easily.
i may, fucking drop something natural somewhere and it might grow into another piece of shit like you. i dont recognize any of you fucking people, youre not real, you came out of comic books.

Go to www.mushmush.nl and look under Methods.
I use 100 g rye grass seed and 160 g water per pint jar.

"Go to www.mushmush.nl and look under Methods. I use 100 g rye grass seed and 160 g water per pint jar."
Yeah, I'd seen that one and it certainly seems in line with all the other recipes. AtomHeart's though, if memory serves, invloved also the use of whole grain brown rice in the substrate, and this would seem to be an inovative approach also in keeping with the recommended PF/MMGM mexi substrate variants currently published (see zb http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem.php?View=docs&doc=47).
While we're on the topic, what sort of ryegrass seed did you go with? Perennial or annual? Did you check out endophyte content? What sort of results have you had and with what sort of timeframe? Please do share as much as you can (or'd care to)!

"im pretty sure p mexicana are extremely small (you have to take like 20 to trip)"
just for general info (and certainly not meant as a slam), from the Psilocybe Mushroom FAQ (http://www.shroomery.org/generalinfo.php?doc=1) re dosage:
mushrooms 2-3(LD), 4-10(MD), 20-40(HD)
so I suppose it depends on just what your 'trip' requirements are.
Out of curiosity, can anybody verify these amounts? Does anyone have any data relating to dry powdered gram amounts?
Many thanks!
