Poormans pod questions
    #3613482 - 01/11/05 03:45 PM (20 years, 9 days ago)

Ok ,

1. If i use perlite in poormans pod , will i need the diffusers and water?

2. If i use lava rocks in the poor mans pod do i need water and diffusers?

I have the air pump/water/diffusers just wondering if they are needed with perlite or lava rocks ,like they are for geolite.

When i refer to the poormans pod I'm referring to this : http://archives.thenook.org/tek/Poorpod.html

Stones and pumps are just for air exchange. You can do without them in most cases but the cakes will require way more care and exposure to the outside.

While the cakes are in the growing chamber , should I keep the lid on or off?

No lid no humidity. Read up on fanning cause your gonna need to do it 3 times a day at least.

yes keep lid on. I made one and cut out the top and put plexiglass in it. You can have my old one if you want to come and get it.

Dont know if you mean incubating or fruiting but in both cases you should keep the lid ON ofcourse!
Otherwise heat escapes (incub.) or the RH drops (fruit).

I believed that the airpump also was used to prevent co2 building up on the bottom...
