Should I even try??
    #3613412 - 01/11/05 05:31 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

first of all ive read all the rules and what have you posted by gumby, and im doing my best to follow them. but anyway im outside philly in the subburbs and hunted for mushrooms some of last summer and spring and never came up with anything active. my question is are my chances good enough that i should continue hunting when the wheather is right? dont get me wrong, i enjoy going out and looking, but it seems hopeless.

Are there actives where you are?

Are you hunting in the right season?

Are you looking in the right habitat?

if you said yes to the questions then get out and hunt! Eventually you will find something.

Untill temps are steadily hovering in the low to mid 70s, it would be a lost cause. Just too cold right now.

In eastern PA you are unlikely to find actives in suburbs. Check horse farms for Pan subbs and look on rotting logs in the woods for Gyms.
