Amount of hydrated lime time released per Peat/Vermiculite casing

A buddy of mine wanted to case in vermiculite and peat mixed 60/40. I suggested coco coir to him but he's already got the peat. I told him I thought it was a teaspoon of lime mixture for every 2 cups of peat in the casing. Is that correct? Measurements in teaspoons, and cups would be most useful for advice; thanks!

And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

Mix as much or as little until the pH reaches 7.5
That would be best but you could probably find rough equivilants in the FAQ quicker then it will take someone to respond.
From what I remember it was 5% of the peat so about 2.5% of the total volume...how much that is I'm unsure, sorry I use coir and eyeball a small amount of calc carb..

ph of peat differs by where it came from. There is no exact formula. Adjusting requires a ph tester.

"They" told me to use 10% by volume. If you havent got a PH tester this should get you towards the 7,5. Peat is rather acid and needs more buffering then coco coir.

He was talking "lime mixture" now he knows he should not use hydrated lime.
Which is used in thrillers to make corpses disappear...
I use "eco style garden calcium".

Thanks, I'll suggest pH tests I suppose along with my original suggestion. Peat does differ according to source, but I think its generally 3-4 area right? Someone asked about growlogs, I've been really reluctant to post anything about my own non-existant activity, or my freinds. I'm not sure how to post pics anyway. Thanks guys, if anyone hears if my teaspooon/2 cups peat thing is accurate rough mesurement let me know.

I did not read the hydrated lime part in the subject before now! Sorry guys..
Herban I would not use Hydrated Lime, use crushed oyster shells or somethingt instead or garden calcium or something. Wrong dose of Hydrated Lime fucks it up. And like agar said it is even hazardous for yourself....
But if you perse wanan use that stuff Id duggest to do a search here.
Good luck, MF
PS: PH of peat can vary even more it can be >5.
