An Oily TiT?

Do TiT's suffer from evaporation losses in the lower chamber?
How about using cheap oil (cooking oil very cheap per gallon) Oil holds heat better than water, and no evaporation loss...
Does having an Oiy TiT sound like a good idea?

It sounds good to me, but would the heater resist?

The evaporation loss is very low. Just top it off every few weeks.

doesnt sound like a good idea, it will be better as a thermal mass but if there is ever a problem like the heater doing out, I percieve a bad cleanup problem
water does evaporate from them but the loss is minimal

Oils can/do cause major air quality problems, when evaporated. (Natural cooking oils are no exception.)
Oils also break down plastics, since plastic is made from oils, they are oil-soluable... to a point! (Some require heat in order to break down.)
The only thing that I don't like about TITs is the fact that 50% of the heat is used to heat the inside, and 50% is used to heat your rooms! Stick with styrofoam coolers and internal heat supplys.
TITs are about the same as trying to heat your house by building a fire outside, real close to your house!

I'd compare it more to spraying gas over the outside walls of your house and lighting them all on fire....
Or even better....filling the walls with gas and lighting the inside of your walls on fire.
Both a bit more efficient then a fire near your house..

I don't use a TiT myself for those reasons. Just seeing what others thought of the idea
