MORE HELP! PC Ecuadors - Rice Cake Temp/Humid

Alright, so it's cold in my room, averages about 62 degrees. I have lots of sweatshirts
I have a cooler that i filled half way with water and am using an aquarium heater to heat the inside of the cooler with the lid on. I placed a wire mesh rack in the bottom to hold the jars. I can get the temp at 80 consistently, however, the humidity stays high (90%+) because of the water heating. Will this hurt the jars while the mycel is growing?

It could, but I'm pretty sure that if you cover them up with something so the humidity can't get in the jars then it shouldn't hurt...but that is a bad idea cuz then the jars wouldn't be able to breath.

Can't you put the cooler itself into another container and make a tit?

i'm a little confused.
are you jars sitting in water? that's not good my friend. if your jars get knocked into the water... they're probably done for. they shouldn't be sitting halfway in the water either.. have you looked for the tub in tub incubator on the boards?
what you want is one tub with the water and the heater sitting in it, and another tub INSIDE of the previous tub.. that way the water around the inside tub is heating the tub/inside air to an optimal temp... not using water to directly heat your jars.
i didn't understand you completely, but is this what you were asking? perhaps you could clarify?

Yeah, you are exactly right about my setup. I had a feeling that the extra humidity getting into the jars was going to be a problem.
about t.i.t. How do I cover the bottom tub to keep heat in, without covering the second tub which keeps humidity in? If you have any links to good descriptions of TIT, that would be awesome

Instead of putting water directly into your cooler put the water into a big jar (like a pickled egg jar) and place your heater into that. Then put the jar into the cooler, the jar becomes your heater. I also wrap my jars with flannel, I figure if it keeps me warm it should keep my jars warm.
