Yesterday me and a friend went out to a cowfield closeby and picked around 50 or so small mushrooms. Neither of us had done this before so we didnt know what they were supposed to look like. I have heard that they are supposed to be brown / tan on top with hollow stems and purple/blue rings or something under the caps. The ones we found were mostly light brown, but the gills underneath were blackish grey and i saw no signs of purple or blue "rings" anywhere on the shrooms. I also noticed that after i handled them and broke the stems they bruised blue, which is supposed to be one of the signs that they are the right kind.
Well anyways i took a chance and smashed 30 of the small shrooms up and made some tea out of them. I only drank about 1/4 of the tea because i was scared i was going to die or something and i wanted to start with a small amount. In the next hour i started to smile and giggle uncontrollably, which reminded me of acid. Something was definatley starting to happen. I felt extremely drowsy and i started to get chills (not sure if that was the shrooms or the air conditioning). I stopped talking for awhile, which is unlike me, and just sat around listening to music... after 2 hours passed by i wondered if anything else would happen and i worried i didnt drink enough. I took a walk outside and kept seeing my street lights flicker and flash out of the corners of my eye. When i looked at something at a distance, it looked like it was swaying or moving. Other than that i had no visuals, and was disappointed because i still felt pretty drowsy. My question is, if these mushrooms WERE poisonous, would i still get a mild trip out of them?
Oh ya i forgot, when i started drinking the tea, the muscle behind my left ear started twitching and aching...
Sorry for the long post but any information or opinions would be appreciated greatly since im clueless as to what went on.

Those were Psilocybes you ate, but you're lucky; to pick and eat wild mushrooms with such a foggy (and inaccurate) idea of what they look like is just stupid. Congrats on your first shroom trip tho.

Hell yeah you picked the right shrooms! Good job!
And shit are you ever lucky. I know someone who picked shrooms in his back yard, ate them...and ended up in the hospital (he was kind of braindead to begin with). So for christ's sake, BE CAREFUL NEXT TIME!
Check out erowid.org I think they have a few "mushroom picking guides" that will let you know what species of mushrooms grow in your area, what they look like, ect.

Yes i know im an idiot for taking a chance like that but the peer pressure and plain curiosity got to me... there was no left over tea because my friend drank it all, which was almost 3/4 of it all ... he said he had a very nice trip. In fact, it just rained today, so we have planned on going back to the same cowfield tommorrow morning to get some more. What time is the best time to look?

I can't believe this. This kid got away with pulilng a gun to his head and is already thinking about trying the same stunt again??!!!! Dude, reconsider your actions!!!! Did you know that there are other species of mushrooms that can grow right next to psylocibians? And the scary part is, they look very similar, and I mean very. Just because they stain blue does not mean they won't kill you. If I sound like I'm being over paranoid it's because I am, but for good reason. I strongly suggest you do some more research. You have tons of time to explore the psychedelic experience. Don't screw it all up by eating a deadly mushroom. You're just giving the DEA and the public one more reason to bring this whole site down. We're all paranoid as it is. Use YOUR head!!!!

I just want to restate how much of a mistake you are making. Read some field guides. Deadly mushrooms can and often do grow next to the friendly ones. One of your experience and even mine can easily misidentify these. And, you're making tea with 50 mushrooms?
It only takes one man. If I can get you to reconsider by typing a few more words, than I will. Do some more research, please!
