Should I Case For My First Time ?
    #360957 - 07/25/01 08:32 PM (22 years, 2 months ago)

I need to decide if I am going to case or not. I have 12 jars colonizing and will be ready to birth them soon. Caseing sounds very easy, but I am worried about failure. I could also case 6, and fruit the other cakes normally. And one question about casing. I wouldn't have to put them into a terrarium or on perlite after would I?

Thanx

case 4 jars and birth as cakes the others.
use 2 cakes per casing, so you can prepare 2 small trays. So i f something goes wrong you have cakes for the crop and anothe chance with the remaining tray.

Hey man,

Hell yeah, go ahead and case a few. Caseing is not that hard, if you can follow directions, then you should be fine. Even if your not, you will learn, and thats the battle. But leave a few cakes so you can still have some fun, if everything fails with the casing.

Yes you still put the casings in the terrarium. The foil pans used for baking cakes would work well, just case with your prefered method, then cover with foil, and keep at the correct temp. and once you get a nice cover of mycelium on the top, you should be ready to cold shock/induce light(take off the foil). You still want to keep the humidity at the correct %s, and temps, with cakes, and casings. Use a good spray bottle, with distilled water, and a small bit of perxoide(spelling) for the top layer, just don't SOAK. This is esp. helpful after a flush or two, and when you tear the patches of the top when you harvest.
Hope this helps Bro.
Peace,
SoCo
