Hi all, i just recently borrowed an electronic pH tester from my lab. Its a waterproof one that seems really simple. Still i hav no idea how to work it. Do any of you guys have one that is similar to mine??
It has three buttons; ON/OFF, CAL, HOLD CON.
Any clue at all?

I use these at work. Almost all digital PH meters I've used MUST NOT BE CALLIBRATED WITH DISTILED WATER!
Use a PH buffer soloution.
Try looking for the make and model on the manufacturers website for instructions.

Most of these will use a buffer solution of ph 7. However their are others that will require the use of ph 4, and sometimes both ph 7, and 4. This way the pen has a much more accurate reading. Find out (if possible) which solution(s) to use. In most cases if it's that type that looks kinda like a big fat pen, then the PH solution of 7 is all thats needed. Much more common. Once you have the solution, fill a shot glass, or just use the cap that covers the end of the pen and fill that with the buffer solution. Place the end of the pen in there (submerge) for afew second to a min., turn on and press the calibration button. Most pens will start to flash a reading across the readout display (pay no attention to this). After a good 30 sec. to a min. has gone by press the hold con. button (again there could be a slight diffrence from pen to pen). Now your pen has been calibrated. Do this about 1 a week. TIP: When storing the pen keep the solution (buffer solution) inside the cap. The ends of these instruments are not ment to be dry. Also keep an eye out for any error messages that could come up, like low batt. Good Luck
