Is passing out bad?

The last time I had some mushrooms (I am not sure the species) I had a pretty rough time of it.
There was a period of about an hour that was total visual bliss - nothing better than nature. But for the remainder of the trip I really felt like death. My head space was fine, but physically I felt as if I had really debilitating flu. This feeling of illness culminated with my passing out in the toilet for a couple of seconds.
Quite a bizarre experience in itself. One minute I was standing their, the next I was wondering why on earth I was lying next to the toilet. I took these mushies with a couple other guys who also felt pretty bad but didn't pass out - none of us had any of the muscle twitches that I believe is associated with strichnine poisoning. I'm not on any medication or anything like that so I was just wondering if anyone had had like experiences, and if passing out momentarily is worth worrying about? Was it just a particularly nasty species?

It could be you had a slight allergic reaction to one of the fungi that grows along with the mushroom.
