Crazy Wisdom * 1
    #3603431 - 01/09/05 12:40 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

The approach of crazy wisdom is to give up hope, There is no hope of understanding anything at all. There is no hope of finding out who did what or how anythig worked. Give up your ambition to put the jigsaw puzzle together. Give it up altogether, absolutley; Throw it up in the air, put it in the fireplace. Unless we give up this hope there is no way out at all!

It is hopeless to look for something to understand or something to discover, because there is no discovery at all in the end. This is the end of the path, the end of the path is to burn the path. Hopelessness  is not a Gimmik. Its the truth of hopelessnes rather than the doctrine of hopelessness.

Or so i have heard

:crazy2:

nah nah nah

life is a pile of puzzle pieces, as you say

we can each fit those pieces together in a multitude of ways

give up ALL hope of ever knowing the 'single correct configuration'

there is none

but, never stop assembeling those pieces into pictures that please you. Reconfigure them when it stops working for you.

You can constantly rearrange the peices of the puzzle, but that is akin to trying to patch a world covered with broken glass with leather instead of wearing shoes!

When we ask ourselves "Who are you, what are you?" and we answer "I am so-and-so", our affirmation or confirmation is based on putting something into that empty question.

A question is like a container that we put something into to make it an approrite and valid container. There is some energy that is there between the two processes og giving birth to a question and producing an answer, an energy process that develops at the sam time, The energy that develops between the question and the answer is connceted either with complete truth or complete falshood.

These two are in some sense the same thing. They make sense simultaniously. Because it does not matter here about logical problems of truth or falsehood, the state of mind connected with this is called crazy wisdom.

you speak of a path that is just a narrow stretch between two points.
look again it is immense
much bigger than all your concepts put together.
and endless

"You can constantly rearrange the peices of the puzzle, but that is akin to trying to patch a world covered with broken glass with leather instead of wearing shoes!"

lol... i have no idea what that is intended to mean.

"When we ask ourselves "Who are you, what are you?" and we answer "I am so-and-so", our affirmation or confirmation is based on putting something into that empty question."

i think i understand and agree. there is really no true answer, we just create one to satisfy our initial question. we are 'putting something' into nothingness. i just think that something can be a good thing. I mean i look at life and metaphysically i know there isnt really anything there, its maya, an illusion, BUT its a very beutifull and nice illusion.

I take the pile of puzzlepieces and make a beutifull picture.

maybe im not getting your point though...

'lol... i have no idea what that is intended to mean.'

Think about it

if you wear shoes your feet wont be affected by the broken glass, but its an impossibly exhausting task to try to cover the world with leather, so just wear shoes man.

'I take the pile of puzzlepieces and make a beutifull picture.'

Whether you create a beutiful illusion or an ugly illusion, essentially it is still an illusion. if you understand this you can understand hopelessness.

ok so i get that its easier to wear shoes than pave the world in leather. what i dont get is how that relates to what were talking about.

Hopelessness? just because things are an illusion, why be hopeless? the illusion is good and promises to get better.

In realizing that all experiences are illusory, we are no longer affected by notions of good, bad, right, wrong. Instead we just percive things as they are. Just as one who sits at the bottom of the ocean is no longer affected by even the most ferocious of waves.

Also if we know things to be an illusion, we can have more space, and freedom in that knowlege.
