Bay Area Cyans
    #3599219 - 01/08/05 05:41 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Here are some pictures taken after all the rain we've had.
Can anyone positively identify these as Ps. Cyanescens or Cyanofibs?
They were found growing in beauty bark along the roadside.
Not much blueing on the stem, but there is blue spots on the caps.

DEFINATLY NOT! DO NOT EAT THOSE. Those are everywhere, cyans have creamier colored gills, an extreme contrast to the cap wich is a chestnut brown. Unmistakable bruising margin and stem. And the stem has a pure white look wich is also a contrast to the rest of the shroom here is a pic of some I found..

And as for fibs, nope not even close. You see psilocybes tend to have white stems while the caps that range from orange to brown. But their is always a noticable contrast between the stem and cap not all one color like your shrooms, also sporeprint them, Im 99% sure they will be rusty brown not purple brown wich is what cyans and fibs drop, better luck next time. Peace

Those are definitely not psilocybe cyanescens.

although my pic isnt the best example of bruising sorry. But if you look closely you'll see bruising around the margin.
