Salvia Questions

I've experienced salvia a couple of times and now want to grow my own. I'm sure these are common questions and I thank you for the help. What's the timeframe to grow from seed to mature plant? Is the yeild worth the time and money on materials?

Salvia from seed?
Good luck finding seeds
Salvia is usually propagated by cuttings. It does well in any pot exposed to a fair amount of light.

if you have a green thumb you should be able to make a good extract within a year. growing, harvesting and blessing does indeed increase the magic if you enjoy her presence i'd suggest getting a cutting asap, giving her water and seeing her crystals adds to experience, as does giving away her children. i really feel she has taught me many lessons, that she wishes to be passed on.

well I was looking into doing the same thing and I found a good place to buy it is from eBay, I bought just about everything I have from there. Now im looking into salvia or Divine Salvia ~Blesser Salvia. Check that out ya I think if my memory serves me right that the seeds have to be fresh ~ 2 weeks u need to plant by.

I don't know I got one about ten days ago. I took one cutting off of it and have had it on 24 hour lighting. It still seems soooo.. slow though. I think I'll move it to the radiator tonight. I will let you know how things are in a few weeks if the new higher temps make a big difference.

I have 3 plants which were given to me as cuttings over a month and a half ago I think. They are now 1 foot by 1 foot bushy plants, salvia grows very fast.

Ive been growing salvia for quite some time now. If you dont notice any growth within a week then you must be doin something wrong. Ideal conditions are RH between 75%-95%, You should see some huge growth spurts if your humidity is high and temperature is between 75F-85F. Misting on a regular basis will increase new growth from nodes. If you plan on growing your plants in a window or outside DO NOT place in direct sunlight for to long, Salvia Divinorum is a shade plant, do not grow under a MH or HPS floros work great.

Scratch that I just measured them and they are 1.5 feet high by 2 feet wide. From about 5 inch cuttings with no leaves 1-2 months ago. I grow them in the same conditions I grow cacti, a glasshouse situated in fullsun with a light-medium shadecloth. They only just came out of the tents and extra shadecloth 2 weeks ago.

How do they survive without any leaves as cuttings? Isn't that where a clone plant gets its nutrients from until it developes roots?

It had the beginnings of growth tips at each node but no full size leaves, which would cause the plant to lose moisture through transpiration. I would say the clone does not need nutrients, just moisture.
