DVD burning problem.
    #3598190 - 01/08/05 02:02 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Okay, so I copied my DVD to the computer. But when I want to burn it, it says Please insert a blank disc. I have 5 Verbatim blank DVD disc's here, and none of them would work. And I tried it on a few burning programs, it would always ask me to insert a disc when there was already one in.

I am going to try buying a few different brand disc's and see if it works. If it doesn't I will be very mad, and it can possibly mess up some trades I have going. But I can try it at my dad's house, so I'm gonna try that I think.

But I'm kinda pissed off about this.

Use DVD Shrink, your problem might be that the movie you're trying to burn is too large for a single layer DVD. DVD Shrink decodes and compresses movies on the fly so they can be burned onto a single writable DVD.

yeah I know that dual layer isnt new, just the writers. I asked cause some of the single layer writeable types wont play in certain players.

1. how did you copy the dvd to your computer? dvd decrypter?
2. use dvdshrink if the dvd is greater than 4464mb (some movies, like older one's dont need dvdshrink)
3. What burner are you using? can you do a screenshot of what it says? nero will say "the disc is not large enough, please insert a blah blah blah" or something like that, and then you should use dvd shrink

do a screen shot by pressing ALT+PRT SCR. then past it into paint, and then say "yes" to enlarge. then save it as jpg...

I would download that, but it's on my moms new laptop and it's not connected to the internet yet.

But I was using WinDVD Creator or something. I copied it onto the computer and then tried burning it and it was on some high quality settings that would only burn 60 minutes so I changed it to be standard and 120 minutes so the whole thing would fit on the disc. But it doesn't burn.

here's what i would do....
get a computer that is connected to internter with cd burner, download both DVD Decyptor and Dvd Shrink, then burn those to a cd, and then install them on the laptop...

those are the 2 tools Everyone uses to make 'backups' of thier dvd's...

windvd sounds whack. usualy they dont give you the 'good' software on a new computer...

oh, thier small programs too.

**use deep analysis and use the check box that has the drop down box for sharp (it will take longer but the quality will be much better)

Use anydvd to decrypt on the fly and clonedvd to shrink(transcode) on the fly as well.

Can rip/rencode/burn a disk in 30-40 min.
