Microsoft always finds some way to screw over their end users in the end.

Stick with the other free alternatives

Are you saying it don't work for you? It works for me, works damn good for me. It not only removes sptware but it keeps it from re entering your box,

I like it.

I won't install it.

The actual code isn't even their own. They bought it from Giant Software company, repackaged it and are now distributing it as their own.

Aside from that, the program itself has to be running for it to be effective, thus using more resources.

It also brings up a hell of alot of false positives from what I hear.

Why fix something that ain't broke? Ad-Aware and Spybot do the job just fine.

why dont they just fix their fucking crap browser?
or wait, because it's not possible - it's a ruin of code.

so they are now giving out a 3rd party crappy spyware removal tool...

Here is a nice article and discussion regarding the MS anti spyware program and the main alternatives (adaware and spybot).. apparently the microsoft attempt finds many more files but many of these are false positives... Slashdot is far from unbiased but it makes for interesting reading.

Im finding it does find alot of fp's but any of the fp's it has found were auto checked as ignore. It knows you prolly won't want to remove it.
