My new grow chamber (pics!)

What do you guys think? Not bad for a days work. I have a section of the closet partitioned off. That's my hepa. You can see everything just thrown in the tank before I started. Then here we go! on a dry run 91% humidity, but need to get the temp up... ..Sorry :-P here we go: So far so good: It's been 24hrs since inoculation. I've got 6 quart jars, with 2 kinds of finch seed, 3.3cc of pancyan/jar. They're in a sterilite tub with a lid and a heater in there the temp is right at 84. I do have a couple questions, though: 1. Should I put the hepa in that little partition, in my closet, or keep it just in my room like it is? 2. Do I need to fan out the sterilite tub? I have been every 12hrs thus far. Maybe I should leave the lid off and put the hepa in the partition?

T minus 36 hrs and counting... I wanted to clarify my previous question, should my hepa filter be in the closet, OR in the actual grow room, OR just on a table in my bedroom? And, should I be keeping the sterilite tub with the inoculated jars closed, or fanning it out?

If I had a Hepa I would put it in the room where my growtubs and incubator are. But would be happiest to use it when working and transferring, inoculating etc etc.

That part doesn't matter as much. Just leave them in the dark at 85 degrees f. You shouldn't expect to see anything in 2 days. Wait 5 then let us know.

Do you incubate in the light? Would be bad. 2 days is nothing sometimes it can take 9 days for first myc. But good viable syringe I see growth after 2 or 3 days. Yes lid can be on.

i've seen it take up to two weeks for a good syringe to give myc... so if it takes a while, don't freak out on us, ok? No light, good temps, quit peeking.

If you're worried about air exchange I guess you could drill holes in the lid or near the top of the container. I use the tub in tub method for my incubating chamber. I drilled holes in the lid of the larger tub and drilled holes in the container near the lid of the smaller container. Works just fine for me, sorry no pics.

I am going to try the tub-in-tub method if this doesn't workout. Is my 100w aquarium heater big enough for this?

I'm sure you meant it can take 21 days for first signs of myc.

Then you are wrong..
I dont have that much experience but imho viable spores (on adequate prepared substrate) dont take 21 days to germinate. Syringes from fresh spores have so far showed growth after 2 / 3 days in my incubator.
Anyway, his question was if he should worry after 2 days. He dont need to. He should worry when after 20 days there still is no growth at all. But lol, he will be happy at the 21st..

Not often? I am sure you mean very uncommon for viable syringes!
