    #3596362 - 01/07/05 11:22 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

i have a casing i made wiht some left over wbs it growing white spikes, i know thats what im looking for..my other casing i think got a little to saturated.has white grey'sh growth..not contamed.. but the casing layer is compressed together..but with a shit load of myc growing through it. now being compresed into a cake almost is that going to keep me from getting the spike growth i so want to see? the casing is a few weeks old.. or is a scratching of the casing need to be done to break up the top casing growth?

ok guys we have 75 people in this room? nobody want sto even give me a nice theory on some options. well either way i don't expect any real solutions..i don't have temps humidity gauge to say what conditions the casings are held in.

just wanting to know should i break up the casing layer? or let that fucker just continue on its natural course?

id scracth it , if its hard and matted it wont be able to pin, it will take longer to colonize back up, scratch it, mist it, and give it time.

nope not overlayed at all..justa real fucking thick growth through the casing layer..i scratch a litle of the top just to get an idea it would be like diging through concrete it's that thick.. well not really.

i took the casing out examined it it has exelent growth in the cake.hell the whole casing has tunred into a cake..wondering compared to my other casing which wa sa fuck around by all means,is gorwing like it should the casing layer is loose nothing matted down..

like he said im worried that pins wont be able to break the surface which such adense growth and compressed almost top layer..

Hell, take it out and fruit it like a cake.  Dunk, cold shock, roll, and slap it in the fruiting chamber.  Lots of surface area on a cake that big.
