I stumbled upon this book at my library by what seemed like complete chance. Published in 1993, it is a book by Beautiful Painted Arrow (Joseph Rael). In it, he discusses the wisdom of the anchients in a true way. He talks about sound, and reality and all of that good stuff. It has been very worthwile for me to read. There is so much left for me to learn, but this is putting life into a true sense, not something corrupted by the American Media culture. Beautiful Painted Arrow is a true man with true words. Anyone read this?

anything you could share with us about it other than it talks about 'sound and vibration' ?
maybe one lesson you took away from it that you can apply to your life?

The idea of what he calls The Medicine Wheel. Picture a room with a heart in the middle. Each of the directions represents something, mental, physical, spiritual, and possibly enlightened (can't remember). You have to tune yourself to the vibration of the world to find piece, and know the Infinite Self. Something he said that I had never thought of was that when we make sounds, it is to retune the body, to make it feel more comfortable. That makes sense to me. Loving people say loving things. Hurtful people say awful things. Most of say a mixture of both. He also gets into the Earth language of Tiwa and chanting and things like that. Sounds he says helps him find the inner peace. I don't know if I'll use his way or not.
What I think about meditation, inner peace, and finding yourself is that it is all on what you want it to be. It's remarkable. Take whatever you love and focus on it, maybe sit down and talk about it to yourself and you'll find you will go places that other people don't know. I believe there is magic and mystic properties to things like chants though. Specific spells for specific magic. I'd say read this book though. It can give you more insights than I can provide.

sounds awesome!
i like the analogy of the medicing wheel having branches to different states of conciousness. its like you are the center and if your aware of it you can conciously travel down different paths to different states of being, and back again. (taking with you the knowledge gained)
