Sterilization w/o PC or boiling

I CANT pressure cook or use my stove to sterilize my jars(WBS) because it would attract unwanted attention. But after a little reading I found out that the bacterial endospores need to germinate before they can be killed. My question is how would I make the endospores germinate so I could then kill them by soaking them in water and H2O2? Or would the H2O2 even kill them at all? Thanks for your time.

Lol, My friend, you may want to read a bit more. Endospores=Germs. The endospores aren't just any germ though. In their dorment state they can withstand temps. that are so hot you'd shit your pants (about 600F) and for long periods of time as well. Germination: You make them germ. by soaking them water (or some liquid w/ nutes in it b/c they need something to germ. with, i.e Poo tea) to allow them to get ready to mate basically and thats when they let down their defenses but they can still withstand hotter temps than the boiling point for water and higher....So you have to PC them to get them hot enough, plus you have to do it for a long period of time (about 1h 2m), You can't just soak them in something and hope that they will die. It doesnt work like that, h2o2 won't kill the endospores Even if you soak, they could withstand, you could use bleach, But then you'd kill all the nutes as well... Sorry about the bad news, but I'd hate to watch you waste a bunch of substrate and Time...Good luck tho I apoligize if I forgot anything... -Gnostic-

O, and you can get camping portable stove tops, you can just plug it in your room or somewhere and boil there....I think you can find them at wal-mart but i'm sure there's other places, you could try the net, first, thats what it's for

If you can't boil anything without feeling paranoid maybe you should wait untill you're a little older.

Ok...I understand that in their dormant state they are very resistant but non-dormant bacterica can be killed by H2O2(at least the ones in my wounds) right? Is there any other way? Theres gotta be someone here that knows of other methods. Help me think outside of the box. NOS4A2... I wasn't looking for smartass remarks...just some help. I'm old enough that if someone sees me boiling jars full of grain and called the police I would get put in jail. Some people have to share a kitchen with straight edge people.

If you had some ham, you could make a ham sandwich....if you had some bread.
Sorry liquidism. The basic thing that you need first is a cooking surface. Heat, or anything else that kills germs, will kill your spores too. The heat goes away pretty soon. Bleach won't. You need to find a way to make a fire.

a pc is really needed in order to do grain. You may want to visit the sponsors forum. Spores101 is giving away free presterile jars.

Hell, there's your solution, buy some presterilized jars. It costs a little more money than doing it yourself but if you're worried about getting caught (and I'm taking you at your word that you're old enough to be here) then that's the way to go.
Don't take offense at what NOS4A2 said, we get a lot of little kids in here saying 'If I buy spores with a stolen credit card, and have them mailed to my parents house, do you think they'll notice the Martha I'm using to fruit them with in my closet?.'
Those are the ones that fuck things up for those of us old enough to know better.

maybe you should try showing these roommates a bit of respect, if something were to happen and the police did show up, its not just yourself that goes to jail
on that note, I'm locking this thread.
