composted manure
    #3585565 - 01/05/05 06:17 PM (20 years, 15 days ago)

A friend just asked me if what he bought would work. I wasn't sure so I'm asking for your advice.
He bought composted garden manure. 1-1-1 They say it's derived from 100% organic materials (peat, forest products or compost) and manure. It doesn't say how much of it is manure.

He was wondering if this would work for Pan Cyans or if he could use this by itself or with straw. If so what ratios would u recommend.

Horse poo or cow from a field/straw is what I've used for bulk. Also just got pan cyan spores. Not sure of what I will use as substrate but it will have a little poo in it.Read they like the poo.

Myself, would not use store bought crap.To much contam possibility IMO

if you do use it makes sure to screen it first as there are often times alot of rocks and other procucts in the compost that slow down colonization. good luck on your grow

i think a may give it a try. i dont' think in'm going to take the time to screen it. i haven't found any rocks or sticks. at the most a few very small pieces of straw not composted all the way.

anybody have any other advice on whether this will work for pans?

In the BUCKEYE state, you should be able to find plenty of horse manure. It's way better than any bagged shitzzz. Simply because bagged shit often has unknown ingredients, plus fungicides & "forest products", meaning sawdust, bark, needles & sometimes pine wood.

Just good old rain leached - sun dried horse poo is GREAT
