what happens if the temp. in your fruiting chamber is too low?

my cakes are taking forever to pin, it's been over 2 weeks now so i decided to check the temp. and they were at around 65-70 degrees earlier this morning. if the temps stay at around 70, or even lower like 65, is that a bad thing or will it just take the shrooms longer to grow? what's the minimum temp. i should be fruiting them at?

temp too low will slow down the process but not do harm. you would like to have your fruiting temps at 74-76 F (correct me if i am wrong, anyone). that is where my cat has her's set at and has had good success.

Temps like that shouldn't hurt the mycelium, it can take anything down to slightly above freezing for prolonged periods of time, however, it won't fruit well, if at all, in that range.  Bump your fruiting chamber temps up between 72-75, the optimal fruiting temperature range for most cubensis mushies.  A little below or above wont hurt it, it just won't be optimal and your flushes may be slow and leave something to be desired in size.  Good luck with your grow!  :mushroom2:

According to PF the temps can go to 60?F or a little below with no problems. Everything ends up the same, but takes longer.
Link to reference above.
