Trying a new + tek for the 50/50+ tek

My other hobbies are huge reef tanks, I have two, and my mj plants. Anyway, instead of tracking down hydrated lime and oyster shell for consitancy and calcium I am using something different. You can get it in any decent saltwater fish store. It is Aquarium buffering material. Basically it is crushed limestone and is calcium rich. I will let you know how it works.

i just saw a commercial for stuff like that. it was called LCR. that stands for Lime Calcium Rust. its some car cleaninf=g thing.

Wrong, this is simply crushed lime stone available at an good saltwater/reef store in bags. Not a car cleaner

dont forget to write down how many grams you put in your casings. and the measurements of your casings.

aluminum can, wrong again, thats CLR
stands for Calcium, Lime, & Rust.

General 50/50 mix this time. I usually use ZooDoo or Black cow instead of peat moss.

50% Vermeculite
50% Peat Moss
10% Aquarium Buffer material (crushed limestone)

7 x 7 cake pans, 1' bottom layer of casing, 1 1/2 pint colonized tek crumbled and spread, and about 3/4 casing on top.

That's not enuf substrate for a 7 X 7 pan. I use 3 or 4, 1/2 pint cakes.

You are correct, sort of. I use 1 and 1/2 jars per pan. Sorry, I posted wrong

7 X 7 pan using 1 1/2 cakes. This was the fourth and smallest flush. no shit
