Is it just me or does the last 10% or so seem to take FOREVER. My cakes will get to around 85-90% in about 2 weeks. Then the last little bit seems to take almost that long?

i feel the same way.. i put my jars near the heater because i think my rooms to cold
what kind are u growing ?

I have some Brazilians now. But I have grown several different strains and they all act pretty much the same.

only at the bottoms it sometimes seems to take rather lonf.

ever grown ecuador before ? thats what i got now and its my first time growing mushrooms. got any tips ? im thinking of casing..

Equadors(EQ) are a fast collonizer and a good shroom to start with.

tip is try a cake or 2 before you start with casing. for the rest EQ is just like any other cubensis
they like water and frash air
in incubator they like 86F and darkness.

have you tried flipping your jars give it a little tap on the bottom. this allows for better air exchange on the bottom. another little trick i do when i have problems doing my last 10% i hold my jar upside down over my hepa filter and force some fresh air in there. but just flip and youll see better results.

I start them out lid up untill they are around 50%. Then I take the foil off and replace with a coffee filter w/rubberband and turn them lid down.

About the time they get to 75-80% I will turn them lid up again to let the cake slid to the bottom letting a lil fresh air in, then place back in the incubator lid down.
