what does this mean?

I birthed one of my pf cakes and there was a knobby thing growing on one side. It looks like what is left when you cut a shroom away and the base is left with a flat side showing. Does this mean there is a shroom growing inside the cake? Is it kaput for this cake? hmmmm...

Sometimes these knots form on a cake, it was either a primordium(the beginning of a shroom) or simply a blob.
Don?t worry, there will be other mushrooms forming.

The strain is PF's matias romero. the knot is beginning to look like the cross section of a tree. You can see brown rings in it and everything. It's giving me a wierd vibe. I think when this flush is over I'll use it for some sort of casing tek so that i can cut it open and see what is going on. areas directly around it are this peculiar brown color
