The only shrooms I've found in Georgia this year are some Pan Subbs(but unfortunatly the bugs got to them before I did =\ ), but that was back in early June. I'm probaly not finding any because I'm a newbie to shroomin'(feel free to correct me if any info is wrong)... I know LizardKing has had a TON of luck finding shrooms in Georgia, but he's experience and knows some good fields.
Shrooms should be growing almost year-round in Savannah, you guys have pretty much the same climate that the Gulf Coast does. I've read that the best time for shrooms is a few days after it has rained, or if the humidity is up around 85%+. As far as seasons go, spring months and late August thru early October would be the best for finding shrooms. In the hotter months you're mainly going to be looking for P. cubensis... You might find Ps. weilii but I really counldn't tell ya about those- talk to LizardKing or Grreatone, they have loads of weilii experince ;) When it starts to get a little cooler you may find some mushrooms from the Panaeolus genus, or maybe some Copelandias(I think).

I am not too far up the road in Charleston, SC and have had NO problems . . though a development is taking my favorite pasture . . . . the cows are gone now, but their poop is still there and so are my buddies.

im extremly new to hunting in the sav area.any suggestions because ive found shit for shit every time XP to be honest i was startimg to worry p cubensis was the only thing even near here

well i cant make it to get to any cow fields because my car was smashed so ive taken to looking for any info on any other psilocybin containing species that would inhabit the dense forestry here. my problem being lack of info on wich ones if any to look for in this area. so i suppose once i find wich specific ones to lookout for id be pointed in a far better direction than blindly checking around.

You could look for Gyms on rotting wood. You could look for subbs in grass.
What psilocybin mushrooms grow in my area?

Some of the rarer species in your area won't have a lot of info on habitat anywhere.I would suggest looking at Lizard King's post. He was an amazing Psilocybe hunter from your region.

really just trying to obtain a print i was cultivating cubes but big accidents werent taken in consideration so ive just taken this as an opportunity to cultivate new types im kinda liking the idea of popping some gyms if i can find any

Copelandia species, (sub)tropical Gymnopilus of the luteofolius/aeruginosus complex, and some more tropical psilocybe spp. probably.

hey im in the 912 area and have been finding tons of copes and cubes on my field. yes there maybe gyms in the right areas, but besides that cubes and copes are what ur looking for.

For the record, I live in the NYC area now and VERY rarely hunt psychs anymore. Only reason I'm replying to this post is because I was like "when the fuck did I reply to that thread?" As far as LizardKing goes, I gotta speak up for him because I have a TON of respect for him. LK took me under his wing and taught me almost everything I know about hunting shrooms, he was the best. Two best psychedelic hunters I knew in GA were him and phishhead, they knew their shit. Unfortunately neither of them are around anymore. phishhead rears his head now and again and always has great advice, so when he posts listen up-- dude knows what he's doing like the back of his hand.
LK on the other hand, fell off the face of the earth. I used to talk to him about every 2 weeks. Haven't been able to get a hold of him in about 6 or 7 years now, even tried contacting his brother who told me he's "done with that shit." From what LK told me, he had bad case of "life is serious as shit now, I can't be doing this anymore," which is understandable. People move on and gotta prioritize life matters. He'll be missed though, he was truly an asset and legend in the North GA hunting community. Taught a lot of people a lot of shit that might have never been known without him.
As far as the topic at hand goes... For Savannah... Look for Cubes and Copes during the summer in cow dung. I don't know if Gyms would grow there until late December-February. They like chilly temps and Savannah is hot as shit year round (in my [now] Yankee opinion). Pan subbs should probably grow year round in Savannah based on the warmer climate, so look for some horse farms.
